18 February 2010 - Inclement weather conditions again played a starring role in testing at the Circuito de Jerez, Spain, today. With the heavy rain showers and high winds that have so far characterised the testing showing no signs of abating, Force India was obliged to modify its testing schedule slightly to allow the race drivers the best chance of the forecasted better weather later this week, with Paul di Resta getting another half day testing in the VJM03 before Tonio Liuzzi took over in the afternoon.

The team made the most of the amended programme to run through further set-up evaluation, plus race preparation and fuel and hydraulic systems checks. With no major issues Paul and Tonio completed over 250km in total.

Adrian will continue tomorrow before Tonio gets back in the car on Saturday to conclude the test.

Donnerstag, den 18. Februar 2010 um 22:34 Uhr
mercedesgp_20100218-1Nico Rosberg was back in the MGP W01 car today as the MERCEDES GP PETRONAS team continued this week’s test programme in Jerez, Spain. Poor weather continued to affect the testing action with frequent heavy rain showers and strong winds causing a frustrating day for the teams and drivers.

The team worked hard to make the best of the ever-changing conditions with Nico completing a wet set-up programme in the morning and focusing on race procedures including practice pit stops in the afternoon when the track conditions became too poor for any meaningful running. Nico completed 71 laps today.

Michael Schumacher will drive the MGP W01 tomorrow with Nico completing the programme on Saturday.

Michael back in action at rainy Jerez E-Mail
Donnerstag, den 18. Februar 2010 um 12:26 Uhr
mercedes_gp_20090217-1(17.02.2009) The MERCEDES GP PETRONAS team began the third pre-season test at the Jerez circuit in southern Spain today with Michael Schumacher at the wheel of the MGP W01.

After last week’s rain-affected test, further bad weather left the track very wet for the start of testing this morning and intermittent rain showers continued to disrupted the action throughout the day.

With the team’s programme constantly adapting to suit the conditions, Michael began the day on wet tyres before switching to intermediates as a dry line began to emerge by late morning. Michael successfully completed a planned long run on dry tyres in the early afternoon before a further downpour soaked the track. Despite the interruptions, Michael completed 111 laps today, covering 492kms.

Force India: Introducing the VJM03 E-Mail
Dienstag, den 09. Februar 2010 um 22:56 Uhr
vjm03The Force India Formula One Team finished the 2009 season as a genuine regular contender for points and the new 2010 challenger, the VJM03, builds on the solid foundations established by its predecessor, which took pole for the Belgian GP. With driver consistency in Adrian Sutil and Tonio Liuzzi and the able support of Paul di Resta in the test and reserve driver role, this year the team is looking forward to a strong performance right from the start of the year.

'Our goal is to continue on the same path of performance improvement that we had at the end of 2009,' says chairman and team principal Dr Vijay Mallya. 'I don't think I am being over-proud when I say 2009 was an exceptional year for us. The bare statistics say it all: one podium, one pole position, one fastest lap, a further five top 10 starts and 13 points. We've learnt from our experiences and we've come out a better team: resilient, resourceful and now resurgent. I hope 2010 will see this great progress carrying forward. We've got one podium so far but I would hope that, this time next year, I'm talking about more points and more podiums. I'm confident we can get this, why not aim high?'

Vorstellung des BMW Sauber C29 in Valencia

Hinwil/Valencia, 31. Januar 2010.
